The problem with all the financial widgets and Google gadgets is that the IT Developers who are creating these programs for us are NOT finance professionals. Some of the features are unnecessary, ridiculous, and stupid. Why would you need a robot to speak the quotes for you? The robot sounds terrible...

The "robot" voice is configurable via your voice settings on you computer and can be changed to sound differently or speak as fast or slow as you like. If you read anything about the widget you'd know that the speaking is not just an "unnecessary feature" to everyone and was created with a single purpose in mind. It can come in useful if you're a day trader who needs to step away from their computer and happens to also have a set of wireless headphones to hear how you…r positions are doing.

So IGS, if you have a FREE piece of software that doesn't do everything you need then how bout you get something more than a widget, like a trading platform and maybe some glasses to help your reading abilities, or pay someone to create exactly what you need.

Oh yeah, you can disable the voice with a single mouse click if it isn't something you want. More

Why is this exact widget listed twice? It's garbage!

This is the best stock tracking widget I have found so far. It has a lot of features but I have just been using the basics - set up a list of stocks, a 2min update frequency and I can see at a glance what is happening in the market. Particularly like the high/low bar for each stock.

Suggestions for the next version:
- Change color of stock name so it is easier to read (can actually tweak this using a hex editor)
- Have option for a solid background, again to make it easier to read
- Increase …the size of the stock list to reduce the need for scrolling
