Starry Night Widget

by Starry Night -

This is an astronomy Widget that will let you see the sky (planets, constellations) for any location on Earth.

• Set your location by ZIP/postal code or by latitude and longitude, and the Widget flips to show a view of the current sky.
• With a touch of a button, see the sky from all directions.
• It’s easy to customize your view. Choose to show constellations, the horizon, the ecliptic line, and labels for the celestial sights above.
• The Widget refreshes your sky image every few minutes so you are always looking at something new.

I am a more of a dabbler than an astronomer, so this widget suits my needs. You have the stars, the constellations, the lines, everyhting. The one big annoyance is the bottom text-crawl--we cannot shut it off. Also, it would be better if we could enlarge the view.

The supporting website has errors which breaks this widget. This has been going on since about March 2nd.

Sorted time problem. Make sure you don't have leading zero's switched on in regional settings.

Also, for people having trouble entering UK locations, make sure the postcode is blank and use GPS co-ords. If you leave anything in the postcode, it won't work correctly.

Only minor thing is the GPS co-ords are out so the sky is different for my area but this can easily be sorted by knocking off a few degrees.

Thank you once again and keep up the good work.

Brilliant. I'm really impressed. Thank you.

The problem I have is that it gets confused after 11:59am. Either 12 or 24 hour clock setting it reverts back to morning. (i.e. 1pm is actually showing 1am sky.). Zoom would be great.
