This widget looks cool and I would use it forever if you could please add a few things: option for completely transparent background, shortened month format (Jan, Feb, Mar, etc.), and option to show day of the week (Mon, Tue, Wed, etc).

Thanks for this handy little widget. I've been using textDate since version 1.0 and it has been on my Mac desktop ever since.
Keep up the good work. I'll keep a lookout for the "skins" version.
