Thanks for the stars. I'm glad it is useful for you. It would be useful for me too if it was compatible with Mac OS X 10.5. Still waiting for an Engine fix. :(

I still don't know why I've had problems getting this widget to work, but after a clean install I couldn't get it to work with the 4.5.0 engine. I looked in the registry, I looked at file permissions... I looked at everything I could possibly image to fix the problem. The only way I was able to get it to work was to go back to Konfabulator 2.1.1 (I saved the install) and the upgrade to 3.0 and then to 4.5. BINGO! It works. I was even able to copy in all my Yahoo Widgets registry… settings (preferences etc) and everything worked perfectly. There must be something that the newer installer doesn't set or provide from the origional konfabulator that keeps this widget from being able to open widgets after they've been closed. I hope this will help someone to get it working again. This is without a doubt one of the most critical widgets I use. More

I've uploaded v2.40 to my website which corrects compatibility issues on the Mac introduced with Yahoo! Widget Engine 4.x and worsened by Yahoo! Widgets 4.5. This version uses the kill command to terminate widgets on Mac OS X rather than Applescript, so it is possible to have multiple copies of a widget open and close properly.

Because The Widgets Widget relies on Unix utilities, for the time being new versions will be available at the author's website rather than the gallery. Unfortuna…tely this means that each time you start the widget you will need to click through Yahoo's warning dialog. More

Testing on Panther (OS X 10.3.9) and Tiger (OS X 10.4.11) show that Y!WE 4.5 breaks the ability of The Widgets Widget to open or close widgets. It seems to be working properly on Windows.
