Here are instructions if you are using Windows XP and Internet Explorer:

After download you will have a .zip file. Double-click it to view its contents. It will have a single .widget file inside. Drag the .widget file onto your desktop. Then drag it into your My Widgets folder which is inside My Documents. You can delete the .zip file.

Once a widget is in the Widgets (Mac) or My Widgets (Windows) folder then you can start it by double-clicking it or open it using the Yahoo! Widget Engine …menubar/Startbar icon.

You can store and run Widgets in other folders but the default is to use the Widgets folder or My Widgets folder.

I am trying to use your widget on an XP Pro platform and when I click on a group icon to close the group of widgets, it closes them but then immediately reopens them.

The behavior when downloaded depends on your web browser.

If you have the preference "Open safe files after downloading" then the .zip file will automatically unzip to a .widget file which you put into the Widgets folder in your Documents folder.

If you do not have the "open safe files" preference turned on then you will have a .zip file that you will need to unzip (just double-click it). After unzipping you MAY have 2 files …ending in .widget. The one you want is the smaller file, you can delete the other and the original .zip file. Move the smaller one into your Widgets folder. Great concept. I was thinking of using it to create 1 group for when I was online and another group for when I was not online. The only thing that prevents a 5 star rating is that the placement of the widgets on the desktop is not saved specific to each different view. If that were possible, I would rate that widget 4 stars.
