You enter the name of the task you are working on and press the button. Press the button again when you have finished working on the task.

The Widget updates a daily XML or CSV file. The file stores a list of the tasks you've worked on, and how long you worked on each one for. You can import the timesheet files into an application like Excel, or write your own script to convert the files into another format.

The information stored in the timesheet files are: task name, length in mil More

    Very cool, and much needed!

    Is something like this possible...
I'd like to be able to import a task list into the widget, then be able to cycle through the tasks until I found the one I want to start. The widget then logs the data back into the task list. This would become a VERY usefultool if that were possible. If it was possible, I'd like to investigate further, not necessarily have you do it.. unless you'd like to!

    Hi

Just a quick comment to say thanks - exactly what I was looking for! We have complicated time tracking in work that slows me down too much to update all the time. So having a quick and convenient way to keep track of time (which I then use to update the company's software at the end of the day) makes this absolutely perfect for me.

    Thanks!

Carl: That's a good point, and maybe a user option would be helpful. Another thing that occurred to me is that maybe the visual reminder could be something less intrusive than a dialog box, such as the light on the tracker's left side turning yellow.

I keep the tracker on topmost level and push it off the right side of the screen so that just the light shows, so that any change in the light would be something that I'd notice.

There's two situations when the reminder is useful, 1) when you forget to start tracking, 2) when you forget to stop tracking. Maybe there needs to be two options, remind when not tracking, and remind when tracking?

    Hi,

It's been a long time, but I have uploaded a new version. Hopefully it will be accepted and available soon.

Thanks for all the great suggestions. Some of them are harder to implement than others, but I consider them all.
