Tint Screen

by Matt Spencer

Want a different perspective on life with your computer? Have a late-night project with sore eyes from the glare? Then change the way you look at your monitor(s) with Tint Screen. It smoothly fades a color or image in/out of your screen(s) and has a wide array of other customizable features.

Requires Y!WE 3.1+ due to the flat-file format used. Also requires the Microsoft .NET 2.0 Framework for screen capturing on Windows. To move this Widget, you must hold control (Win) or command (Mac), click, and drag.

Zip file contains the Widget and a readme file containing everything you need to know.

I really like it. It gives a soothing and feel and look to my monitors. The feature I like the most though is the possibility to use any image. I took a picture of my girlfriend, saved it in png format and I can see her on my desktop on top of my wallpaper.
I wonder if you could make a widget that all it does is give you the opportunity to use as many pictures as you want and put them on your desktop. No action required when clicked. Just pretty pictures. It would be very nice.
    Keep up the good work

Just tested 1.3 on my WinXP SP2 system and now it tints both monitors. Good Job. :)

Okay, I added an option to choose the location of your primary monitor. The link to download the new widget (version 1.3) is located at the forum location in my previous comment.

I'll see what I can do about reading locations of the monitors, although I don't really have a way to test this. If I do find anything, the updated widget and anything else we be posted at this widget's forum location (http://www2.konfabulator.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=11243), and I'll try to add a comment here about the updated info. Thanks for trying it out.

Broken on dual screens when the one to the right is the primary, only tints the right one and not the left one, I'd guess it's the same with more than two if the primary isn't the leftmost one.

I have this issue with tons of software, negative x coordinates make some appications go nuts! :|

Hope you manage to fix this issue, once you do this is a sure download for me :)
