Tint Screen

by Matt Spencer

Want a different perspective on life with your computer? Have a late-night project with sore eyes from the glare? Then change the way you look at your monitor(s) with Tint Screen. It smoothly fades a color or image in/out of your screen(s) and has a wide array of other customizable features.

Requires Y!WE 3.1+ due to the flat-file format used. Also requires the Microsoft .NET 2.0 Framework for screen capturing on Windows. To move this Widget, you must hold control (Win) or command (Mac), click, and drag.

Zip file contains the Widget and a readme file containing everything you need to know.

Hi Jellicle. Thanks for the kind comments. A couple basic questions: Did you start to get this error when you downloaded the newest version, or did it "randomly" appear? and What operating system are you using?

To help me get some further information, I need you to access Tint Screen's debug window by doing the following: Start-up the Widget Engine if it's not already running, press Control+Shift and click open the "Gear Menu," and then click the new "Debug More

I really love this widget. I used it to alert 15 minute breaks during my worktime, and to hide my screen when peoples come and see me.

However, I've got an error "Tint Screen was unable to load itself successfully." since a few days ago. It's weird, because I had used this program for months.

    Would you help my problem?

The next version of Tint Screen, which will hopefully have better screen capturing capability (atleast for windows), will be in the new flat-file format introduced with the engine in Version 3.1. Therefore, K2.1.1 and pre Y!WE 3.1 will not be supported. That's all.

Ok, so it wasn't possible at the time. Tint Screen V2.0.1 addresses your issue. It's available through the forum page.

This is currently possible. If you want to just tint your primary monitor, simply use the widget with the single monitor option selected. If you only want to tint the secondary monitor, you should be able to configure the maximum resolution values and the location of the primary monitor to achieve your desired effect. Since I only have one monitor, I can't quite give you the exact steps offhand, but it should be wholly possible. Will just require a little tweaking.
