Mounts and unmounts TrueCrypt encrypted volume files or devices, using the open-source TrueCrypt program found at (www.truecrypt.org). Set the files and drive locations in preferences, then mount and unmount the drive from the main Widget form.
Ian, I tested this again and I am now using version 4.2a of the TrueCrypt program, and it seems to be working okay on my machine. I have a SanDisk Cruzer USB thumbdrive, and I formatted a 32MB SD card in it in the device formatting section of TrueCrypt. I was able to enter the device information, such as 'DeviceHarddisk1Partition1', select to 'Mount Device' in the top of the TrueCrypt setup options, save it, click on the appropriate red circle (ie. 1,2,3), then mount. I am not… sure what else to say without any other details as to your hardware setups, etc. Maybe you could try installing the latest version of TrueCrypt. If it is still a problem, you can email me at : tksherrer 'at' iname 'dot' com. In any case, thanks for trying the program!More

If you're a daily TruCrypt user, this Widget is for you! I like the "Look and Feel", of the widget, it's almost self explanitory. Add a little help file link and it would be perfect. A little "Lock / Unlock", sound would be cool as well. Good work Todd, nice widget.

Sorry Tod I meant to say device rather than file! I have created an encrypted partition that I can mount under TrueCrypt. Just not with the widget yet. See my previous post for the problem, but relating to a device!

You must create the encrypted file in the TrueCrypt program. The widget does not allow for this. Once completed, you can open the widget preferences, select 'File' from the 'Mount a file or device?' option for one of the 3 file preferences, locate the encrypted file you just created in the second field, specify a drive letter to be assigned, then save the preferences. If you saved them under 'File 1', then you should be able to click on the far left circle (1), enter your password, and mount the volume. Hope this helps you!

How do you mount a file? I can do it in Truecrypt but not with this widget. When I select preferences there is a field for Truecrypt Encrypted Device. I have entered the volume information - such as /Device/Harddisk0/Partition2 but when I try and mouth the device I get an error message telling me that the Truecrypt encrypted file path in the widget prefernces has not been defined.
