UUID Vault

Widget authors have been asked to include UUIDs in their Widgets to enable built-in Widget update check. Now, the process of generating and using these UUIDs has become a whole lot simpler.
UUID Vault not only generates completely valid UUIDs, but it also allows you to easily keep track of which ones you've generated.

As a developer who didn't want another hacked-up database/excel spreadsheet for keeping track of UUIDs, I appreciate that this keeps everything associated with my Widgets inside a Widget - no more managing documents! Just have ot hang on to the Widget's data now... ;-)

Harry elected not to include that option for fear of users entering invalid UUIDs, however you can modify the plain-text database yourself if you know where the Widget data folder is.

November 15, 2007 · version 1.2 willyI like this idea too, but i have one poblem, maybe i overlooked it but, i have a UUID allready in my widget is there a way to add UUID to this widget? Because i would rather not change the UUID as it has allready been distributed with it

Also, deleting an entry does not visibly delete it until the Widget is closed and reloaded.
Did I misread this feature's purpose?
