This Widget allows its user to keep tabs on any image URL put into it. It's ideal for looking at images updated dynamically, such as webcams or traffic cameras. You can check out the Eiffel Tower or Times Square up to the minute if you want!

Custom URLs are stored for later use and the Widget can spawn copies of itself with a single click, for added spying fun.

Great widget, my only wish are (1) able to display the name of the traffic cam at all time, (2) away to automatically tile all cameras (widgets) neatly on the screen. Thanks for the great stuff Merlin!

peter: The background image was introduced to allow a (partly) transparent foreground image to be placed on top of a background image, for example, variable traffic data placed on top of a fixed road map. At present, there is no separate user control of foreground opacity, although I could probably add that in a future version.

You would need to have the earth-map as the background image and the grid as the foreground image, and you would also need to be able to control the foreground opacity.
