Weekly Dilbert

by Alan

Marc, there is a way for the user to reconfigure the widget when they change their feed, but it would involve decompressing the widget and editing the source code. Unfortunately, when they changed their feed, it wasn't something simple like the URL, but the actual page coding itself. I'm now taking the feed from the Official Dilbert RSS Feed at Feedburner.com so it shouldn't fall prey to their main site updates.

It works *far* better than the 'official' one, thank you for updating it!. I also was wondering, where are the strips being cached so I can save them? Thanks again :)

Mike, this widget doesn't save the strips. It only displays the image downloaded from the web. You can try going to http://feeds.feedburner.com/DilbertDailyStrip and right-clicking on the strip to save the ones you like (in Firefox the option is "Save image as..")

Yes I understood that. I was just wondering where was the temporary folder. And since everything gets cached one way or the other. I assumed that in this particular case too because newer strips took a little longer to get displayed. Personally I use Opera, but the widget engine uses the IE engine to retrieve the files, in my case this is where I found them:

    C:\Documents and Settings\USER\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\

I tried selecting the whole bunch and made a 'copy to folder' and works fine. Thanks again for your widget :)
