Widget Converter

Are you a Widget developer? Do different Widget formats have you down? This Widget will end your misery.

Widget Converter will take a Widget which runs in the Yahoo! Widget Engine and convert it into a Widget format of your choosing, be it a folder, a zipped Widget, or the latest flat Widget format. As a bonus, it will clean up your Widget a bit in the conversion process!

Note that this Widget is a developer tool, and it is not written for converting similar accessory applications for other runtime environments to work with the Yahoo! Widget Engine.

Ricky,
I turned debug on .in the KON file ....after converting to flat file and running it tells:
cannot load include file ./main.js
Running widget ad zio fle is no problem

BTW I could not find : (holding Control and Shift and clicking on the Gear Menu) Gear menu ?
Is there a helpfile for widget convertor ?

Spanishearl - You need to be using at least version 3.1 of the Widget Engine to use this Widget.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong here....

Logged in as Admin, Just learning this stuff....

I get this error when trying to download your converter.

"Could not open Widget
C:(Path to my temp dir)

It either isn't a widget or you don't have access to that file. (StartWidgetProcess: Unable to open .widget as a zip)"

Something I'm doing wrong?

Try loading the Widget with debug mode turned on (by holding Control and Shift and clicking on the Gear Menu). This may give a clue as to why your Widget is not loading.

After conversion a zip widget to a flat file, i got an error running the widget: eror ;
it cannot load itself
What could be the problem ?
