Widget Media Player
Windows Media Player in a Widget!
Uses COM (WMPlayer.OCX), best if you have a stocked and reasonably well organised media library but not essential as will add dropped files to library.
Have tested on W2KproSP4/WMP9 & WXPhomeSP2/WMP10.
Open the info panel to access your media library, enter a search term and click on button to search either songs, artists or albums.
Accepts dropped files/URLs (WMA/MP3/CDA/ASX), so either CD audio tracks, radio stations, or folders containing valid media items and adds valid items to your media library.

September 08, 2005 · version 1.0 Justin CrittendenLove the beta update! interface is great and the animated countdown scroling to the left is innovative! my only problem is i'd like an option to see the song info with and without the playlist/library window, otherwise you've got a ten star widget here! Move over iTunes, theres a new player in town!

v2.0 is in review. Pushpin was an idea to make artist/album sticky, but have discarded that in v2.0 as it has a proper searchable library window. v2.0 has a slicker interface aswell. Was wondering about docking the windows - shall look into your suggestion - ta!

August 31, 2005 · version 1.0 Justin CrittendenLove it!!! perfect as a stand alone player rather than a "remote" requiring the main player to be open as well... indeed i agreee with the others that it's a bit big, maybe if it had some functionality like the new Date Reminder widget by Robin Zhang which has a sliding/hiding feature against the left side of the screen. could be a better way to integrate future playlist functionality as well... and if not that then perhaps options for only specifiv file types, kinda annoying when … More
