Widget Media Player
Windows Media Player in a Widget!
Uses COM (WMPlayer.OCX), best if you have a stocked and reasonably well organised media library but not essential as will add dropped files to library.
Have tested on W2KproSP4/WMP9 & WXPhomeSP2/WMP10.
Open the info panel to access your media library, enter a search term and click on button to search either songs, artists or albums.
Accepts dropped files/URLs (WMA/MP3/CDA/ASX), so either CD audio tracks, radio stations, or folders containing valid media items and adds valid items to your media library.

Elan! - Hmm, not sure. What versions of windows & WMP? And I'm not saying it is better - bit of a redundant first project to learn how to build widgets - something with a bit of meat to the code. Also, I liked the idea of the iTunes remote but I don't do iPods/iTunes - always been a WMP user so I thought I'd fill the gap.
