Widget Media Player

by David Emmerson

Windows Media Player in a Widget!
Uses COM (WMPlayer.OCX), best if you have a stocked and reasonably well organised media library but not essential as will add dropped files to library.

Have tested on W2KproSP4/WMP9 & WXPhomeSP2/WMP10.

Open the info panel to access your media library, enter a search term and click on button to search either songs, artists or albums.

Accepts dropped files/URLs (WMA/MP3/CDA/ASX), so either CD audio tracks, radio stations, or folders containing valid media items and adds valid items to your media library.

    Playlist Workaround- Lengthy but simple

Good Player. Nice GUI and works. To work around the playlist issue you have to select the songs you want and drag them into main search window. The trick is you have to select all the songs and drag them in at the same time. You could do this by holding crtl + left mouse click. Note this works if you've got all the songs in one folder. You could create folders of your songs and drag them. Once you have the songs you want as a playlist in the large window of the widget just click set as playlist and you're set. ;-)

Just stumbled across this via CSMs comments in Widget Tesing forum. Very nice Widget. I also thought I might be able to help Nelly (sort of).

I think you'll find that the problem is more with WMP than with this widget. If you open up WMP you'll probably find that the moved files appear to be in both locations there too.
