This is a good start to a nice wikipedia widget. The problem is that it opens up that darn slow internet explorer browser whenever i do a search in this widget. it would be cool if you can search wikipedia within the widget rather than having to wait for the internet browser to open. i might as well search wikipedia in internet explorer, whats the difference?. the only reason why i would want this widget is because i dont want to open up internet explorer, especially when its sluggish most of the time and takes up memory.

Great tool! looks nice... i'd just make smaller fonts on the type in box... but anyway looks great.

I still don't understand widgets that add an extra step to launching a browser bookmark. Do some people really have a desktop packed to the gills with a little widget for each reference site on the web, each widget nothing more than a glorified button for opening your browser and taking you to the site which you might as well have done in the first place and saved yourself the step of going to your widget to do so? (anyone seen a widget that helps run on sentences :)

The best widgets displ…ay the answer to your query right there in the widget. If the thing simply has to launch your entire browser, what's the point of a small widget?

The main purposes of a dashboard-esque widget is for a slim, sleek, small, quick way to reference or harness some info or action. Take for instance the Wikipedia widget for Mac users on their dashboard. Pretty good, but would be better if it were self-contained, like it displayed the text inside the widget. An example would be the Dictionary widget by James M. Allen. I know it's somewhat of a momentous task, but that would make this widget very useful to me.

Just what I was looking for! Perfect, seamless and wonderful. A real time saver.

I search Wiki frequently and it is great to be able to type my query on my desktop and have the Wiki page with my answer appear.

Yes, it opens a browser, but I WANT to be in Wiki to view the search results. That's what Wiki is FOR. Clicking references and other links, checking the history and discussion... If you just want text in a box go use some print encyclopedia that's ported to the web.
