Word Kards

Word Kards displays a Dolch sight word on an index card from a list of 220 words. Click on the left and right arrows to display the previous and next words. Click on the word to hear it spoken and/or spelled aloud. Clicking any where else on the Widget allows you to drag it around.

Dolch sight words are used by educators to help people learn to read. These are critical reading words that cannot easily be sounded out. The only way for a beginning reader to deal with these words is to memorize them.

YOU ARE BRILLIANT! What a wonderful idea and a great contribution. Please consider doing this with languages. I'm studying French right now and it would be so helpful.

No sound? The wordKards don't pronounce the word when you click on it.

Otherwise, GREAT....helping my grade 1 son learn his sight words, but being able tohear the words he doesn't know would really help!

Looks nice, sounds like a good idea... But if you are teaching someone to read english, isn't it bad to have the misspelled word "Kard" in their face constantly? :P
