Look slike dictionary.com have changed their markup and the comments you're looking for no longer exist. A quick hack to getWordFromDictionaryCom() displays all the definition including some textual references (quotes), which is quite cute. I need to understand your formatDefinition() code better to format the text so that it's not so wide, but the junk is gone. Here's my patch:
var headTitle = '<h2>Word of the Day for';
var endQuote = '</blockquote>…;'
var headTitleIndex = defFeed.indexOf(headTitle);
var endQuoteIndex = defFeed.indexOf(endQuote);
Yeah, what is all this junk that comes up with dictionary.com? I like dictionary.com's words much better, but right now it is not usable. Please post a new version to fix this problem. I really want to use it again!

Anybody else notice using it with Dictionary.com stopped working? Did they change the format of their website or something?

This would be really nice if it were to pull more stuff from wordsmith.org, like at least pronunciation. It would also be nice, but not necessary to also play the pronunciation sound clip(s).
