The Xirrus Wi-Fi Monitor version 1.1 is the most comprehensive Wi-Fi Widget available. Use it to search for Wi-Fi networks, verify Wi-Fi coverage, locate Wi-Fi devices, detect rogue APs, educate yourself about Wi-Fi, and more!
The Widget uses a radar-like display to show available Wi-Fi networks and their range. The main Widget face provides details on your connection and adapter, including SSID, channel, signal strength, and IP/MAC addresses. A fly out window provides details on Wi-Fi networks, including security settings, signal strength, channels, and network types. Statistical counters are also provided. Supports multiple Wi-Fi adapters.

naturalmanI like the receiving speed readings, But it dosn't automatically go to the desktop on start up. I shows up in the wrong places and lately not at all. It has to be open from the tool bar unlike the rest of the widgets. Not too happy with it's unstability on my OS X system

it only shows you wireless networks but that's all, it doesnt connect you to any of them especially if they are WEP/WAP protected. Just scrap....
