...but I did almost exactly what Edwin C did, and now it works! I uninstalled Yahoo! Widgets and downloaded all Windows updates that dealt with .NET framework (all versions) and WMP 11. I reninstalled Yahoo! Widgets and Voila!! The XM widget is working corrrectly. I don't know what exactly fixed it, but it's good now!!

I have 9 other widgets running and all are working perfectly. I installed this one today and it's working, sorta but harder than heck since it's missing the background and all. It appears to have been updated back in 2006 or so and nothing. I consider this to be unusable.

Running Windows XP Pro with .NET Framework 1.1, 2.0, 3.0 and 3.5 installed.

For those of you having problems with the transparent GUI I also reinstalled windows XP and had problems I have updated windows updates to include Net Framework 2.0 and afterwards I reinstalled yahoo widgets and OMG it worked flawlessly as before I hope this is why it did not work before and if so then everyone who had issues can now know what to do on there computers I am currently running Windows XP Home edition and have service pack 2 with Net Frame Work 2.0 installed I hope this helps everyone : )

I love this widget but it is transparent and alot of people have this issue, can it be fixed please? We want to use it properly and see its proper background I am checking this area everyday to see the fix for this common problem plz respond back so we can all be happy Thank You!

I just rated this at 5 star because I have been using it since the first release. I just re-installed xp and now the widget does not work properly.... seems to be a pattern here! is anyone listening? THIS WIDGET IS BROKE AND IS IN DESPERATE NEED OF REPAIR! please fix it.
