This Widget is based on code originally created by X2 Studios (http://www.x2studios.com) and it controls an instance of XMMS/xmms-shell running on a remote *nix machine. It's designed to be used in an environment where you have a *nix-based MP3 server directly connected to your stereo.

October 07, 2004 · version 1.1 jreadesIf you mean on the server side then it was easy for me since I'm running a Mandrake server using off-the-shelf Dell hardware. XMMS and xmms-shell were installed as RPMs.
If you're looking to install XMMS on a Mac, then this should also work quite well with the widget, but I have to say that I haven't tried it yet.
