The registry fix I previously posted will only allow the widget to get the standard info which was originally installed with the widget, IE djia, yahoo, etc...I just tried the search as you described and "it Failed" as well.
This is looking like a developer issue and/or yahoo
I enter 'C' - the stock symbol for Citigroup and the following msg displays: 'Your search returned too many items. Please try searching again using more refined terms'. Same if I search for 'Citigroup' - what's that about? I know the stock has tanked but that's now way to treat our 'Citi never sleeps' people. BTW - tried the registry fix by Terence L and still no joy :-(
The next step is to click on "Start".
Go to "Run" and type "regedit" in the box and click "Ok".
Find and right click on the folder listed below to delete it.
I wrote earlier that this widget stooped around end of May, I have loaded a fresh Widget engine on a fresh machine XP and the bundled version works there. The prob appears tp be with existing installations of some age, also, this does not correct by meerly reloading. I do not know what the correction is, I suspect a clean of the reg keys... I will try latter
