@Ray: That's right, floating means: only visible. You can use this setting for a program that displays only information. Please use Top (on the top) - the second option - instead.

By the way, doesn't handle changing the window to floating.

This is exactly what I was looking for. I used to use Google Destbar but they replaced it with their desktop search which adds a whole ton of functionality that I don't want. This is a nice simple tool and works well.

Maybe version 1.8 is fully adaptable to open URLS.
