Zoomy Dock

by Mark Watkins

The Zoomy Dock Widget is an application launcher/dock in the style of Mac and Linux. This dock is a major rewrite from prior versions and is greatly improved. It allows drag and drop of executable/files and it will create a shortcut to that application, you may also include arguments for the application. Many icon images are supplied, or you may try and use the one associated with the file. You can remove/relocate icons by dragging them around/off the Dock.

Very nice widget. The only problem I have had is I cannot type in command line arguments that have to be in quotes. In other words if I have an executable that requires an argument like: "c:Documents and SettingsfooMy Documents" (which has to be in quotes because the path has spaces) the executable doe snot get the quoted path sent in to it. If this were fixed I would give you the full 4 stars! ;-)

    Dan,
It sounds like you were dropping shortcuts (.lnk) files to zoomy and not the executables. These can have strange issues depending on the software and how it is install on windows. If zoomy will not restart, search for the file 'zoomy25.1.dat' and delete it and restart zoomy. You should be back to normal after that, with no shortcuts but the default. Drag and drop the actual exe files and see if the results are the same.

Everyone else is giving high ratings, so I don't have a problem leaving one star. I had many issues with this (Windows XP, 2.8 gHz, 512 RAM - Firefox was the only other app running).

    1. I removed the clock and calendar. Then I added Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, and Flash in that order. I first changed the icon for Illustrator. When I tried changing the other icons, the program path changed to a random string of letters and numbers. So I got rid of everything and started again - More
